The abbreviation IPL stands for depilation with intense pulsed light, which illuminates the hair with gentle light pulses. The IPL hair remover works in such a way that the melanin (color pigment) in them absorbs light and converts it into light energy, which stimulates the hair follicles to rest in the roots. The hairs are thus prevented from re-growing, so they soon fall out.
